This movie The Conspirator is on the aftermath of the assassination. How government rounded up the eight suspects and there trial and conviction in a military tribunal. The story moves more around Mary Surrat one of the victims and it has been a subject of historical debate whether she was involved in the conspiracy of the Lincoln's assasination.
"There was no guarantee she was involved. They were not able to prove it," said Redford. "She was stoic in the defense of herself. And they put her in a military tribunal, which should have been a civic trial."
